Usage Guide
Step-by-step walkthrough with visual previews of each application.
The mockups below replicate the actual look and feel of CapyDeploy's interfaces.
Hub (Your PC)
The control center. Discover agents, manage games, upload to devices.
Devices Tab — Discover Agents
Launch the Hub and it will automatically discover Agents on your network via mDNS. Connected devices appear as cards.
Pair with Device
Click "Connect" on a device. A 6-digit pairing code will appear on the Agent. Enter it in the Hub to establish a trusted connection. The token is saved for future sessions.
Enter the 6-digit code shown on the device
Upload Game Tab
Create game setups with the game name, folder path, executable, and artwork. Then upload to the connected device.
Installed Games Tab
View and manage games installed on the connected device. Edit artwork, run with console log capture (Linux), or delete — the Agent handles everything.
Settings Tab
Configure your Hub name, SteamGridDB API key (for game artwork), and view version information.
Agent Desktop (Handheld — Desktop Mode)
Runs on the handheld in desktop mode. Receives games from the Hub.
Main Screen — Agent Info
The Agent displays its status, network info, and capabilities in collapsible sections. It automatically broadcasts via mDNS for discovery.
Pairing Code Display
When a Hub tries to connect for the first time, a pairing code appears on the Agent. Enter this code in the Hub to pair.
Connections & Authorized Hubs
Once paired, the Hub appears in the Authorized Hubs list. You can toggle accepting new connections and revoke access to previously paired Hubs.
Upload Progress
When the Hub sends a game, a fullscreen overlay shows real-time progress with transfer speed and percentage.
Decky Plugin (Handheld — Gaming Mode)
Alternative Agent inside Decky Loader. No Steam restart needed.
Quick Access Menu Panel
Open the Quick Access Menu (QAM) on your Steam Deck and find CapyDeploy in the Decky plugins. Toggle the service on/off and see your pairing code.
Agent Info
View the agent's name, platform, version, install path, and network information directly in gaming mode.
Authorized Hubs
Manage which Hubs are authorized to send games to this device. Revoke access by removing a Hub from the list.
Installed Games
Browse and remove installed games directly in gaming mode. Deletion is handled instantly via SteamClient APIs — no Steam restart needed.
Telemetry & Console Log
Toggle hardware telemetry and console log streaming. Metrics are sent in real-time to the Hub for monitoring. The game log wrapper can be activated from the game's context menu.
Install Progress
When a game is being uploaded, a modal overlay shows real-time progress. On completion, a checkmark confirms the install was successful.
